Cardiac psychology
Today there is an urgent need to create a new trend in medicine, that is
cardiopsychology. It is a synthesis of cardiology, psychology and innovation
psychotherapy. The main purpose is to prevent the cardiovascular disorders,
and to design non-drug therapy to decrease the pharmacological correction's
intensity taking into account the uniqueness of patients already suffering
from these disorders. The pathologies' priority is the coronary artery
disease and hypertension.
While using the new approach it is important to understand the notion "norm"
more precisely . We offer definition: the "norm" is a capacity of deliberate
active functioning.
The initial diagnosis of psychoemotional tension and getting
it under the control in the process of treatment and rehabilitation.
Having modified T. Dembo-Rubinshtain methods of self-evaluation of
psychologically unstable individuals taking into account their most common
complaints, the questionnaire was worked out called "Self-evaluation of
psychoemotional tension level", including seven ten points scales.
- Anxiety
- Fear of death.
- Agressiveness.
- Despair.
- Loneliness.
- Suicide.
- Depression.
3000 patients' pictures have been investigated. They were normal, with
border disorders ( neurotic reactions and states), mental disorders
(schizophrenia) functional ( neurocirculatory dystonia, asthenovegetative
syndrome) and organic ( coronary artery disease, hypertension).
The graphic" Self-Identification Test System"(SITS) was worked out and
clinically approved at Essential Hypertension Department of the N. D.
Strazhesko Ukrainian Research Institute of Cardiology.
The new non-drug method for psychological stabilization based on art therapy
was designed.
Projective visualization
Non-drug method is characterized by minimum possible risk of negative effect
due to psychological invasion. It is a kinesthetic ( synchronized with
breathing motion) and graphic (free associative picture, correcting text)
reflection of unconscious psychotraumatic images replacing them by adequate
positive ones with the purpose to achieve psychological stability.
Projective visualization permits to discover marginal, pressed motives
orienting to the opposite of the predominant ones. The displacement of the
psychotraumatic images with their subsequent substitution is based on the
feedback principle - formation of image, afoot, in picture or text with its fixation
consciously or unconsciously.

Method of Projective visualization in appropriate modifications is used in
different areas of medicine. It is also used for sportsmen to correct their
psychoemotinal tension, and in business consulting to solve tactical issues
and for strategic planning.
PROJECTIVE VISUALIZATION IN A PERSONAL STABILIZATION OF CARDIAC PATIENTS
The new projective visualization methods i.e. kinesthetic and graphic
reflection of the unconscious psychotraumatic imagery have been used for the
patients with asthenoneurotic syndrome, coronary artery disease and
hypertension. It was noticed the significant reduction of anxiety, death
fear, aggressiveness, depression, considerable heart pressure lowering,
reduction of angina attack frequency. All these factors permit to decrease
the pharmacological correction's intensity.
PROJECTIVE VISUALIZATION IN THE THERAPY OF PSYCHOLOGICALLY UNSTABLE PATIENTS
WITH CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE AND HYPERTENSION, NEUROCIRCULATORY DISTHONIA
Two schemes of the new projective visualization method i.e kinesthetic and
graphic correction of psychotraumatic imageries to decrease psychoemotinal
tension were used for 30 patients with asthenoneurotic syndrome, stable
exertion angina pectoris II-III FC and hypertension II St and 30 patients
with neurocirculatory disthonia and schizophrenia.
The nature images and specially developed exercises in the conditions of
natural landscape, which can be reproduced in the megalopolis conditions
later, were used. In both groups were noticed the significant patients'
conditions improvement, correlating with the positive dynamics of functional
erythrocytes activity and hemodynamics. All these factors allow to reduce
pharmacological correction intensity, especially psychotropic drugs.

PROJECTIVE VISUALIZATION IN THE THERAPY OF PATIENTS WITH CARDIAC TYPE
NEUROCIRCULATORY DISTHENOA AND SCHIZOPHRENIA
To decrease the psychoemotinal tension for the patients with cardiac type
neurocirculatory disthonia and schizophrenia, the new non-drug method of
projective visualization of kinesthetic and graphic reflection of the
personal condition was applied.
PV stimulates the self-identification increase, the new perception of
personal capabilities, intensified the mechanisms of psychological defense
based on new experience. The links between the doctor and patient have
improved, without any binding to the doctor. As the result of using PV, the
patient's psychoemotional tension has decreased, they started to accept
themselves more adequately, and also their treatment, other members of the
group, Center personnel, doctor in charge of the case.
Projective visualization method application for psychologically unstable
patients.
The applied images of positive sense promote the development of adequate
self-evaluation made by psychologically unstable patients themselves and it
is very important for their rehabilitation. The additional effect is the
forming stable productive link patient-doctor.
It is very important while using PV to combine psychological elements with
physical ones based on associative images lines. We have got very good
results using PV in medical -social rehabilitation for the patients
suffering paranoid schizophrenia.
